Forecastle Festival 2008 Opens for Business: Submissions Sought for Music, Art, Film; Sponsorships Still Available
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) November 4, 2007 -- The 2008 Forecastle Festival? has opened submissions for its 7th annual event, July 25-27 on Louisville's Riverfront Belvedere. The festival and symposium, named one of SPIN Magazine's "Top 101 Things to Do in America", will expand its Music.Art.Activism.? theme by adding an extra day to accommodate more bands and artists, along with music industry panels, art workshops, speakers, films, and outdoor industry demos, plus an expanded outdoor sports park and an eco-business expo. There will also be organic food sampling.
In keeping with Forecastle's environmental focus, online submissions are strongly encouraged. Music submissions are now being accepted through SonicBids.com. Bands and artists without existing SonicBids account may acquire one for $4.95 by clicking through the link on the Forecastle website. Art submissions are also being handled online through a downloadable PDF form, available on the site, and film submissions will be similarly accepted via Withoutabox.com.
Several exclusive sponsorship opportunities still remain, including the title sponsorship, along with presenting sponsorships for the art and activism disciplines. Several cash and in-kind opportunities are also available at various levels. The complete detailed sponsorship program with pricing and benefits is available for download on the official website, with hard copies available upon request.
Festival founder and event producer JK McKnight expects upwards of 10,000 festival goers for the 2008 event. Along with the newly trademarked "Music.Art.Activism" motto, the festival is launching a nationwide media campaign this spring, focused heavily on Midwest markets. "Forecastle is where the Midwest meets, and that will be our focus in 2008" says McKnight.
Highlights of the 6th annual Forecastle Festival, which featured headliners De La Soul, Particle and Girl Talk, are featured in a 7-minute promotional video which can be viewed on the website.

Changing The Way We Listen To Music With The MP3 Music Player
Not so very long ago most of us who are old enough to remember probably had a collection of vinyl albums that reflected our wide taste in music. Such technology was all we knew and, with the help of a record player, we could enjoy our songs without having to wait for them to come on the radio. The MP3 music player technology initially appeared in the mid-1980s but we would not see the player in its present state until the late 1990s ? 1999 to be exact. But when it made its appearance it would change the world of mu...
