International Dad November Podcasts Tackle Key Issues for Fathers

Wellington, NZ (PRWEB) November 28, 2007 -- This month, DYI Father, the podcast that discusses dads and parenting visits with three different parents about their tips for parenting and also talks with one of their own hosts about the "White Ribbon Day" campaign and his part in it. DIY Fathers can be found on www.InternationalDad.com, one of the channels on Yaktivate.com.

First up is Caroline Panesar. After moving to NZ, Panesar met Eva Scherer, the founder of Child Connection, who showed her how to connect with children using games and exercises. Panesar noticed an immediate change in her own relationship with her children when using Eva's methods. There were a lot less tantrums and confrontations, and the general atmosphere in the house changed to one of goodwill and harmony. In her podcast with host Scott Lancaster, Panesar shares some tips for busy working fathers who can use the techniques in the morning or evening.

In the second podcast of the month, Pat Watson chats with host Lancaster about 'conscious parenting', one of her key topics. Watson works for Barnardos (the largest and most trusted children's organization in NZ) as the SKIP Early Childhood Project Advisor (www.barnardos.org). She's a mother of three and grandmother of two, and has worked in early childhood education for over 20 years.

25th November is White Ribbon Day, a day when people all over the world wear a white ribbon to show that they do not condone men's violence towards women. The 3 hosts (Lancaster, Stefan Korn, and Eric Mooij) approach this difficult topic for many dads from the personal perspective of Mooij, who has been asked to be the face of a national campaign for White Ribbon Day.

Finally, Lancaster has the chance to ask TV and radio presenter Matt Lawrey about his experience with combining fatherhood with a busy career. Lawrey has interviewed many high profile celebrities and international dignitaries including Edmund Hillary and Helen Clark. He shares with Lancaster how he continues his busy and successful career with his duties as a stay home dad looking after his son Darcy.

Changing The Way We Listen To Music With The MP3 Music Player
Not so very long ago most of us who are old enough to remember probably had a collection of vinyl albums that reflected our wide taste in music. Such technology was all we knew and, with the help of a record player, we could enjoy our songs without having to wait for them to come on the radio. Today, technology is so different that it barely resembles its former self. Music lovers of today carry around portable devices that store all of their favorite songs in a piece of equipment that is barely larger than our thumbs. The MP3 music player technology initially appeared in the mid-1980s but we would not see the player in its present state until the late 1990s ? 1999 to be exact. But when it made its appearance it would change the world of mu...
